Staging Area and Start Villages
The staging area of the TCS New York City Marathon is at Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island. Only registered entrants and guides are allowed in Fort Wadsworth and the start area; spectators are not permitted. You must have your race number or guide number visible to enter the staging area. Check back closer to race day for a map of the Start Village.
Please note: The staging area is outdoors and may be cold and damp; warm clothing is recommended. Goodwill bins are located throughout the start villages and in the start corrals to donate clothing.
The staging area is divided into three start villages. Your start village is the base color of your race number—either blue, orange, or green. When you arrive at Fort Wadsworth, please proceed to the appropriate color village area; this will help reduce congestion.
The same facilities are available in all three start villages, including toilets (1,500 total in the three villages) and a medical tent. Also available in all three villages is a free breakfast consisting of tea, Poland Spring® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, Gatorade® Endurance products, bagels, PowerBar Performance energy bars, and Dunkin' Donuts coffee. All villages also have access to the start corrals and UPS baggage trucks.
The staging area for AWDs and guides is on New York Avenue adjacent to the green start village.
Interfaith and Jewish religious services are provided in the open zone in the center of the start villages.
