Staging Area and Start Villages
View a map of the staging area and start.
The staging area of the TCS New York City Marathon is at Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island. Only registered entrants and guides are allowed in Fort Wadsworth and the start area; spectators are not permitted. You must have your race number or guide number visible to enter the staging area.
Please note: The staging area is outdoors and may be cold and damp; warm clothing is recommended. Goodwill bins are located throughout the start villages and in the start corrals to donate clothing.
The staging area is divided into three start villages. Your start village is the base color of your race number—either blue, orange, or green. When you arrive at Fort Wadsworth, please proceed to your start village.
The same facilities are available in all three start villages, including toilets (1,500 total in the three villages) and medical services. Also available in all three villages is a free breakfast consisting of tea, Poland Spring® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, Gatorade® Endurance products, bagels, PowerBar Performance energy bars, and Dunkin' Donuts coffee. All villages also have access to the UPS baggage trucks.
The staging area for AWDs and guides is on New York Avenue adjacent to the green start village.
Interfaith and Jewish religious services are provided in the open zone in the center of the start villages.
